Trauma bonding vs Authentic:

Let's take a look at the differences in bonding in the wrong way and in the healthy way. > Trauma: fix me, save me, validate my existence. > Authentic: learn about me, hear me, hold a safe space for me. > Trauma: I'm chaotic, unpredictable, a roller-coaster of emotions. > Authentic: steady, calmness, consistency,and openness without question. > Trauma: I need you to complete me. > Authentic: you enhance who I already am. > Trauma: I betray my boundaries and beliefs in order for someone to love me. > Authentic: I do what I have to to meet my own needs first. > Trauma: my relationships mirror my past experiences and are largely fragile. > Authentic: my relationships are based on respect, mutual effort, accountability and peace. It's sometimes hard to identify when someone is putting their traumas on us and expecting you to be their savior, so learning what is acceptable and not will help prevent unhealthy situations that drain you.
