You know you're dating healthier people

when the ending of a connection doesn't leave you with spiraling thoughts or addictive/withdrawal behaviors. But instead, you find yourself to be grateful it even happened. Grateful for finding another person to care for and being able to make a positive difference in their lives. And also loving yourself after the fact rather than attacking yourself. It's a beautiful thing to progress past trauma bonds and the need for external validation. Because then you find genuine, caring people that make you feel safe and appreciated, regardless of current compatibility or life circumstances.

Perhaps it goes without saying, but when this happens you should know that it also means *you* are healthier. Feeling and expressing more gratitude for the positives and less regret over the negatives will make you a beacon in the darkness. It will draw the attention of other people who are working to take a healthier approach to the dating game. That, in turn, will tie back into a feedback loop of mutual positive progress.
