There's a saying in the South. "You can't squeeze blood out of a turnip." If two people are attracted enough to one another then a bleed effect would happen where caring is obvious. If only one parties truly is attracted to the other then the bleeding effect is like dripping blood. It will eventually run dry. And what is desperation? It's when you pour your soul into it and the other party has no positive response/reinforcement. Hence, no bleeding. I'd say communication and transparency is paramount.

Sadly I think that the line is different with different partners, but also if someone isn’t reciprocating or appreciating your caring/attention then it’s time to take a step back and analyze it a bit. I know it’s easier said than done especially once you’re invested, emotionally and or physically. Some people like a lot of care, attention and affection some do not. Be yourself though, just put yourself and your mental first.

I think when tou are showing that you care and the other person completely ignores your efforts or doesn’t show the same level of care back it could come across as looking desperate. However, some people are just kind hearted and really want the best for everyone.
