I'm afraid of hurting someone else, in fact last night I had to reject my best friend because I didn't want to risk our friendship like that. I feel that way because of a mistake I made years ago when I was still trying to be straight. I'm confident in my ability to not be hurt because I'm a very understanding person and I can usually tell if someone is worth it. I think this is a really good question, btw! It would also really fit in the psychology tag, I think.

I‘m afraid of being hurt myself. Speaking from experience I’m always the one who’s ignoring his own needs to comfort the other one. It’s always been the same until now, my partners left me because I think I’m to boring for them. It’s not easy to find a partner that is willing to put the time into really getting to know the inner me. It literally takes years for me to fully open up to new people. Jeez I’m oversharing so let’s end that here.

This is a very deep question. 🤔 For me it is really hard to pick one over the other because I feel like it's a little bit of both. I don't ever want to hurt someone, but I also do not want to get hurt. I've been hurt so much before that I would never want to put someone in the same situation or make someone feel the way I have been made to feel. I guess it really depends on a person's past on how they would actually answer this question. A good decent person would never want to cause harm to another but at the same time a good-natured person who's taken for granted and get hurts a lot because they wear their heart on their sleeve maybe really scared of getting hurt. So I feel like these two go hand in hand but then again maybe that's just me.
