What does cautiously optimistic mean?

Because I've been saying I've been that for decades and to multiple therapists and none of them have asked me to elaborate. I guess my question is did they know what it means?

I find it extremely funny when therapists say stuff like "We need to find something that cuts off your stress" as if I could just quit my job and become a decorative gargoyle or something 🙄🙄🙄

So my therapist has been doing emdr
