So I saw this app now has a feature that allows AI to type for you, and many other apps already have this feature. The way I feel about it is this: AI can be a useful tool when it comes to finding things to talk about if you really can't think of anything, but it should be used only in situations where you really want to get to know someone better but have no clue what to say. However, if someone I was chatting with only used the AI function and never wrote their own messages, I would probably feel like I'm talking to a chatbot. Before AI became more commonplace in social medias some already had the opinion that people were becoming progressively out of touch and losing nonverbal IRL social skills due to texting and posting more than communicating IRL...and now, i'm honestly inclined to agree. I know I'm a hypocrite for saying that, though. I have my reasons for spending more time messaging people than going out and meeting people in person, but these days I'm questioning more and more whether that is really healthy for me. Feel free to share your opinion if you'd like!
