This pothos has lived in my kitchen for 6 years. It's a parent to at least 10-20 Xmas gifts every year. The longest it ever grew was 18 feet, but it was having trouble keeping healthy at that point so I cut it back. Anyone else have any of these ancient no flower house plants?

It’s leggy. She has way more potential than this! If you haven’t already solved your issue of getting it to stay healthy and continue growing, a few things: - Get a supplemental full spectrum LED (nothing fancy - a GE grow light is perfect). It can grow with lower light, yes, but.. it’s not ideal. - Feed it at like 25%(ish) strength tropical fertilizer (or your own) each watering and give it some additional bacterias and mycorrhizal fungi.. among other things. -Are you using tap water? For so many reasons, your plants will [often] not thrive if you live in a major city. Most municipalities use chloramine, in addition to chlorine. Chloramines don’t evaporate; they need to be chemically neutralized (fish tap water conditioner is great). If you don’t neutralize it or use RO or distilled water, soil health fails to thrive cause that chlorine kills much of that soil’s ecosystem .. plants are more prone to pests, too - And a big one: repot her (with a chunky soil mix that drains well) and attach her to a large moss pole or cedar plank. Prune her then get her climbing; you want those nodes against a firm surface so signals are sent for rooting and putting off new growth. Over time, she will become more compact with larger leaves; just be sure to water the pole/plank well. [Google pothos in the wild, then Google pothos on moss poles or planks] .. If you’ve solved your issue, then oops and congrats. Either way, 18’ - even when leggy - is impressive indoors. 👍 *pic of golden pothos and Cebu blue pothos in my care currently — Even they need a refresh of soil mix and some additional nutes.

Well, I currently don’t have any that grow that long. My daughter has managed to get one to go about 20 feet. She has it hanging on the walls in her apartment now the issue is she’s moving and hast to take that down and figure out a way to transport it , I told her to possibly wrap the vine like a water electrical cord to like a wreath shape and I might be able to make the trip unscathed. By the way, pothole do flower, but mainly in the natural habitat of the jungle. In the house they tend to be constrained so they don’t reach their full potential. (edited)
