Vegan Thoughts

and feelings too, unfortunately. Mainly anger (at myself), gulit, disgust... . As I'm broke, I sometimes get food from community kitchens. This one in particular has "vegan" options. Emphasis on the quotation marks. I kind of feel like I was psychologically tricked in a way, because today's lunch was bangin' ngl lol. No notes. Tonight though... cross-contamination. Chewed meat thinking it was their chopped-up vegan patties. Nope. Why even advertise this or proudly tout this when you can't even do it well, do it justice, etc.? People have allergies among other health conditions, as well as religious beliefs. I'm vegan for personal beliefs myself. It's unfair. Shouldn't have to have this level of psychological distress. I think I'll just have to struggle more now, to find a different place that is.

If you didn't make it yourself, there's no clear label, and there's a chance it's not vegan, then don't eat the meat products. However, you shouldn't feel any more guilty about eating the meat than you do about using the services of the place at all. Even if they do have vegan options they still serve animal products. So, whether you only partake of the vegan products, you're still supporting their un-vegan practices. Let go of the guilt. Accept that you made a MISTAKE. Forgive yourself. Move on.
