I shut my finger in the car door awhile ago and the fingernail is starting to come off. I’ve been putting a turmeric powder on it all night a couple of times. It’s coming off at the bottom 😝 Someone said they had an entire fingernail underneath when their fingernail somehow fell off. Another person suggested asking the doctor to remove the entire nail. What would you do?

I just left it. It grows back, like hair. If you don't have serious pain or it doesn't look inflamed, just let it be. It will be ok. Yes, some people I know had another nail beneath that one, it can be. Anyway, it happens often and you'll be ok 🩵💯

It took a while when I did that but a new one grew. It doesn't look like it happened now. The doctor didn't do anything for me. I used calendula ointment and vitamin E on the nail bed a couple times a day. Be patient is my best advice.

I've gor experience with this. My big toenail has come off and regrown like 4 times due to various injuries. It's always just come loose and then off on its own, and a new nail was starting to grow in under it.
