Wrapping up what I thought would be a 20 min project.. 3 weeks later
Decided I was tired of storage problems on my Omen 17 laptop. I've kicked 20 gigs of ram in to it and added an internal SSD I ripped out of somthing else. All wad smooth so why would this be different... go to best buy pick up NVME SSD 1TB.. get it home.m right single slot.. okay well next day go look for an external expansion no luck but this 4TB HDD might work.. of corse not! Next day I find the External expansion so I into this for nearly 500.00 and 4 days. No luck. I spend the next 3 days trying to clone my drive and then another 2 just to crash my old SSD to use my new one as the boot drive.. an for nearly a week used my old boot drive on a wire hanging off my laptop well the nice new one sat in the slot mocking me... well... I found a 3.00 USB thumb drive I had dunked in energy drink ab thought eh maybe this won't fry the whole thing.. apron booting recovery I noticed the windows system boot was upwards of 80 gigs. Well the installer told me it needed 52gigs. I pull my old SSD off like it was a single dude during a qicky jumped into CMD prompt with what days ago I would have called wizardry and da dum da ta that windows tune crossed my ear.. now I'm not going to say Microsoft owes me for all the extra parts.. but maybe.. if I had the nesacary size required for the partition for a new boot drive ANY WHERE ONLINE... I would have been able to save my self days, 100s of dollars, a few broken pens, some lung damage, and a little cortisol cortisol... how ever in all her glory. A 20 gig DDR4, 5TB, 4k uHD duo screen Frankun-Top... And on that note...my 1TB boot drive has shunk to 92 gigs.. well looks like back to work.. ❤️
