One of my favorite things is to use "yes, but" let them have their cool idea and moment but have them pretty thoroughly explain how they see it working. Then find a loop hole or twist what they want to have happen to create consequences. Humor goes a long ways to keep people at the table level headed and not annoyed when their idea gets twisted back on them, so make things funny and try to spread it out across everyone. I'll also just tell people to roll X to buy time while I think of something and use said roll to help guide. But yes as DK said be ready to improvise, a lot. All players have a super power to mess up whatever kind of thing you have planned.

Somethings just get better with each reiteration. Conan Exiles. Castle Sol is the Yamatai. Then you have the Manor which is largely a mix of Yamatai, Nemedian, and a little bit of Argossean. And my Tower a mix of lost dungeon expansion pieces and storm glass. (edited)
