The curse of dead people over generations

No TLDR, this is a matter worth mentionig and reading about. Forget the propaganda and read the following. My goal is not political, but simply humane. I came across a post regarding a (sadly) controversial topic: patriarchy. While I acknowledge that living in society requires a certain order to live with people who are different from one another, it is important to note: 1- Patriarchy and Matriarchy's meanings: a system characterized by the dominance and control in decision-making of a gender over the other. If we return to the traits of a social order, you need unity of all members of the society. Yes, everyone has a role to play but setting specific roles based on unrelated qualifications like gender, sexual orientation, etc is basically discrimination. The "Barbie" movie that many (especially straight men) refused to watch shows the contrast of both systems and their similar consequences: injustice and discrimination. 2- Intentions are not enough of a drive. I acknowledge that there were genuine intentions in such systems (protecting, contributing, building) despite the negative aspects. However, when actions cause harm, intentions aren't an excuse. 3- This is a social construct involved with cuiture. Anything social never remains the same and can change. I am aware that things have evolved A LOT compared to decades ago but there is still plenty to consider and work on for the future. It needs time (and openness to listen and welcome change). 4- Fear is natural. It is common to find opposition to anything that is new and unfamiliar. You may want things to remain stable and comfortable, but keep in mind that stability isn't consistency. Stability requires balance which doesn't sustain from absence of change. There are a lot of pros from going through with this change. You may not understand how it is perceived as good or just not agree with it. And while you are entitled to your opinions, does forbidding others' (unharmful) joy and seeking of equal opportunities worth it? When the restriction of someone over things you have access to seem right despite the reactions of many, it is important to reflect if what you believe in is truly an appropriate solution. Try to understand what it entails and think of the benefits of society. Submissive and obedient women are a fantasy, not an element for social building. If you fear working in the same level of a woman, you need to work on your insecurities. The latter is strength and is just as important and needed as physical strength. It is greed and selfishness that drive such opposition WITH the knowledge of their harm on the group(s) in question. In conclusion, think and think again.
