Attractiveness does mean something

My job got a new staff member couple months ago, she's beautiful, youthful and intelligent. I've noticed that the doctors treat her differently than us. They joke with her more, they talk with her and even will buy her lunch. I've been there for 3 years, I work hard, I'm pleasant to be around and I make everyone feel awesome. My mom will even make little snacks and goodies that I bring in but still, I can tell they favor her more. I'm not mad at anyone but I do notice the difference between how I'm treated by the doctors and even the patients and how she's treated. Society is so strange.

I have caught myself doing that once or twice. I truly do not understand why but, it is something I keep track of now. It's not even that I treated everyone worse it was that extra attention. So I just cook surprised meals to bring in sometimes and leave it for everyone. Everyone deserves that extra little pick me up no matter what they look like!

It's called pretty privilege. Women do the same thing. There was a study done that found when a guy sees a woman he's unattracted to he gets annoyed. It's worse for men. We virtually become invisible if the woman's not attracted to us. So if we flirt the same way as a hot guy it's seen as creepy. (edited)
