A bit of venting...
So, I'm new here and I normally don't really describe what disability I have in detail. But, I was born with a VSD (ventricular septal defect) and a lung disease called Eisenmenger Syndrome. The VSD was brought on by a heart murmur I had when I was a baby. Doctors didn't go in and correct it because they thought it would heal on its own; it never did. My Eisenmenger Syndrome is a type of lung disease that was brought on by my VSD, which causes scarring in the lungs, and pulmonary hypertension. Between these two conditions, my blood doesn't get the oxygen required for my entire body, since it gets regurgitated by my heart. It's prevented me from having any kind of physical activity like exercising. I have recently began seeing new doctors about it, and the idea of future transplants were brought up, and that's looking to be a last resort. I don't know what to make of what could happen... All I know is I'm tired of facing it alone.

Oh dear that definitely can not be easy for you or family. I can relate. For you to do exercises that are exerting would not be good. What about yoga? Easy gentle movements or tai chi. Check with your doctor. Medicine has advanced far and now they can do so much to help those that need it. Stay strong talk with your family about this too.

Not knowing is scary
I've recently become disabled. My legs began to lose motor function exponentially over the course of a month. Doctors found that I had L4-S1 herniated discs, with damage normally seen in car accidents or in the elderly. I'm 2 months out from surgery, but my legs still barely move or feel. We're... read more
