I decided to play Fallout 3 and this is my first fps playthrough. Tbh I'm terrible at shooting games only because I prefer melee lolol buuut this game somehow made me be good at it as I progress in the game. I'm on my way to do that wasteland survival guide. I'm a massive fallout nerd, I've played through 1, 2, 3, new Vegas, 4, and a little of 76. 1 and 2 are very old school. Honestly, I have grown to accept the ending of 3. But there's also mods that can make it better on your next playthrough. 😉 My big recommendation is do not rush through the storyline. In fact, ignore it for now. Get lost in the universe and immerse yourself in the lore. It's sooo good especially for it's age. And mothers hip zeta is a weird one but you won't stop thinking about it, ever.

Oh to be able to experience fallout 3 for the first time again. 🥺 It's an amazing game I've played hundreds of hours. You're in for a treat. Do you have all of the dlc? To answer your question, fawkes is another good choice.

You can only travel with one companion at a time in 3, and both the good aligned companions are encountered by following the main storyline. Star Paladin Cross is the earlier one-you can find her in the Citadel in the section with the big robot.
