Hate those questions cause I can't make a promise I feel I can't keep in a years time etc. Just prefer to say.. "I could see myself there by your side, if you want it to work out? I'll try my best. But I can't predict the future." Sadly, I see ultimatums like this as red flags that they are insecure, a fear of losing you makes them feel that they need you to promise them that "you wont go anywhere". Develop first, be the best of friends, leave the worries of the future to futures you. Only then can you feel confident that the relationship is strong, build your foundations. Then one day, you both wake up and you think.. 'Wow, we've been together this long?" (edited)

Because they finally see your true nature and they realize that they are not willing to invest themselves in it. That's why I don't simply let anyone to get on board with me without me being transparent about my past, and present life so they can weigh and calculate the risks of choosing me. I ask a lot of questions and that helped me to see who they are, what are their expectations toward me, and how will they handle me in all kinds of situations. And, the most IMPORTANT thing that we MUST DO is to observe whether or not what they said matches with what they do because actions speak louder than words.
