“But… where will you go?” She shouted, standing in the pouring rain, looking at him with her soft, pale blue eyes—eyes slowly filling with pain from an aching, exhausted heart. It was all she could think to say. Nothing else seemed to come from her broken voice. “I’ll figure it out. This isn’t for you to worry about anymore… it never was,” he said, his back still turned to her. One hand gripped the handle of his worn leather duffle; the other was tucked into his coat pocket, wrapped tightly around a locket. He knew—if he turned around and looked into those eyes, the ones that broke him to his knees every time—he’d never be able to walk away. But what was the point? He had convinced himself she’d be better off without him. Without his chaos. Without his flaws unraveling every piece of her peace. Always, somehow, breaking her down—no matter what he did. Getting in the way of her life. Her dreams. So this… this was all he knew to do. All he could do. The train pulled in slowly, screeching to a halt. She stood frozen in time. Watching the love of her life walk away. The man who never truly understood how she felt. And she realized… He never would. The train doors opened. He pulled his hand from his pocket, the locket still clenched in his fist—then, without a word, dropped it to the ground and stepped onto the train. As if in slow motion, she watched her heart fall into a puddle on the cobblestones. Could it be…? She ran toward it, kneeling to scoop it from the water. As she looked up, the doors had already closed. All she could see was his silhouette—fading—as the train pulled away. How could he still have this? She had given it to him years ago—on their trip to the countryside—but she was sure it had been lost. He never spoke of it, and she hadn’t seen it in years. That day on the lake…they had decided to go out on a road trip. Her heart still shattered from losing her mom. It was all he could think to do, just get away for the day. They’d taken a rowboat out, drifting in silence beneath a golden sky. He read to her from his favorite book while she lay back, staring up at the light as birds traced across the clouds. When they returned to the dock, she realized the locket—her locket—was gone. The one her mother had given her in the hospital, just days before she passed. She had cried all night. He had promised to look for it. And he did. He found it the next morning, tangled in the reeds by the dock. She remembered how he came to her, holding it like it was treasure—excited and proud to present it to her. She had taken it in her palm, eyes full of tears… Then she looked at him—really looked at him—and gently placed it in his hand. “Keep it safe for me,” she had whispered. “I want you to have it.” He didn’t understand, but he didn’t want to protest. So, from then on, he kept it on his chain, always tucked beneath his shirt—close to his heart. She never told him what it truly meant. That it was her way of saying, “I trust you with my heart. My grief. My everything.” She didn’t have the words then. But that’s how she spoke—through her actions. And now— There she was, standing in the rain, holding it once more. The locket… and his silent goodbye. She opened it. Inside was a tiny, carefully folded piece of paper— with her name written on it. She unfolded it slowly, hands trembling. A letter… soon to reveal everything.

Another opportunity to reach out within myself to find purpose beyond where I am now. Every day is an opportunity to reflect and grow, even in subtle, small ways. A chance to be more of the man I desire to be—a healthier, more available version of myself, not only personally but for my son as... (edited) read more

Your actions told me to stop, so I did. It wasn’t the words you didn’t say, but the ones your behavior screamed loud and clear. You pulled away, you shut down, and you left me with no choice but to step back. I wanted to keep fighting, to keep trying, but your actions showed me there was nothing... read more

I was the shelter housing the chaos, I loved that chaos with a whirlwind of passion, It became the tornado. That destroyed my home, my shelter, my peace. It still hurts, she was a drug, still is. But naturally people often find this stuff to be way more boring than an action scene. Also considering seeing if anyone here does RPG play by post. Could prove some inspiration for an action scene.

So, it took a while but I've found 2 pens that I really enjoy. The compact brass fountain pen and the brass gell pen. They have a perfect weight and a good thickness while going on the page like warm butter. All the more reason to keep writing. 😀 (edited)

It’s shocking, but it’s the brutal reality. While he claims loyalty to you, his actions show his priorities clearly. He will go out of his way to shield her from consequences, lies, and exposure, yet expect you to remain blind, patient, and forgiving. This isn’t love—it’s selfishness disguised as... read more

feel like they’re always there for others but when you need someone you have to handle it alone? … like it’s just crazy how I give my all and you don’t… maybe you’ll realize what you had when it’s gone.
