No matter what kind of Privilege you have, you can usually use it to help others. As an Athiest you probably think differently to me, but maybe you can still get something out of the explanation if you see it as a metaphor. In my view, God gives differently to each individual person. The Bible has a Parable about a Master giving His servants different amounts of gold to be Steward over while He was gone. And the amount given was according to their abilites. The servant who was given five traded with his, and made five more. The servant who was given two did similarly and made another two. But the servant who was given one hid it in the ground. When the Master came back, He congratulated the first two. But He scolded the third, because he didn't even bring it to the bankers to gain interest. As far as I understand, the metaphor of the gold or Talents was their lot in life, and or their opportunity, in this case, to share the word of The Gospel and do the Will of God. But even if we take a step back from that last part. We've all been given our opportunities, whether by God or by chance. And whenever we have privileges that others don't, it's an opportunity to invest those privileges into others. I've found that life is more satisfying when you give even a little every now and then. One of my greatest privileges at the moment is time. Because of a few things and the country I live in, I have the ability to be on a Government Benefit while I'm recovering from several things. And that means I have a lot of time on my hands. And with that time I'm trying to invest in my mental, emotional as well as physical wellbeing. So that I can hopefully be a better person towards the people I encounter once this time is up. I'm also investing it in learning more about The Bible and Sharing The Gospel, because I personally believe that finding God is one of if not the most important thing for someone to do in their life. But however you view it, if you've got an excess of something, you have an opportunity to use that for something. And you can use it according to what you think is most important to contribute. But yeah, I really feel like finding ways to bless others really is an important part of living a more satisfying life. And an excess of things sometimes gives us the opportunity to find ways to do that. But with all that said, I shall now shush my face. Hope this wasn't too preachy or cringe. But even if it was, I was just sharing what's helped me 🤷♂️ (edited)
