HELLO FEBRUARY 💝

It’s February again. My least favorite month. Hope everyone is having a good month so far. 

Its not so much like Valentine’s Day or anything (though it is small part of it). However it’s completely different. Years ago in the beginning of February I lost my dad to cancer. Had pneumonia one day and his fever broke the next day so I thought he was improving. Then I checked in on him and he wasn’t breathing. Had to call 911 and perform chest compressions. By the time I made it to the hospital, they told me he had passed. Was pretty messed up that day. Day before he died there was a chance for him to stay in the hospital, but he didn’t want to and rather than put my foot down, I took him home. Makes me wished I did things differently 

In any case he passed and his funeral was on Valentines Day. In addition, later that month was my dads birthday. My dad always hated the month of February and now that he is gone I’ve inherited his hatred of this month. Maybe hate is too strong, but every February makes me think about my dad and what happened that day that it’s gets me depressed. Once the month goes by I’m sure to be better about it, but still I dread and sometimes grieve during this month. Still miss my dad.
