The Older I Get...
I love when people assume I'm pandering to men because I want to learn homemaking skills. Like no, I just enjoy figuring out how the stuff we by in stores is actually made because I'm convinced with enough practice I could do it better. So many foods we buy can be made fairly easy and much better quality with just a few simple ingredients. I really wanna be the ONLY person who cooks in the kitchen because it's annoying when two different people attempt to arrange things in there. I'd love to live on a small farm because I think homeschooling kids on a farm is the best way to raise kids. I don't think schools breed a love for learning (for most students), the curriculum is ineffective, and little kids shouldn't be forced to sit so much. I'm trying to get back into gardening, because I know stores have gotten so complacent with our dependency that they refuse to lower the prices of food even when gas prices drop. Not that the quality of the food is better than sketchy in almost every store. (But I wanna learn some older gardening techniques first) I want to replace lawns with wildflower meadows because we need to bring back nature instead of manicured lawns. I wanna eventually cut the lawn with a scythe because I don't understand why we've created so much technology to do the labor for us also to end up needing a gym membership. I'm trying to learn to sew, and once I learn to sew I'm then gonna learn to make the thread, because I know that clothing manufactures like to use old thread so our clothes fall apart faster. I'm also working on jewelry making and very interested in eventually learning to make purses and shoes. I like washing clothes by hand because modern washers are so rough on clothes and dryers are a great way to ruin your clothes faster. I'd love to have one of those old washers with the ringer, and want to get back to using the clothesline soon, because it saves electricity. And because by the day I grow more obsessed with doing things "the old fashioned way". I did leave the house & do some college. I lived near some cities because I thought I wanted that life & I hated it and was epicly stressed out by it. I'm thankful for a lot of my experiences, but I don't want it back. I have no interest leaving the house on a regular basis for anything other than shopping, and even then I grow less interested in doing that by the day when you can have most things delievered/ordered for pickup. Sure I like makeup, but I really just think books are more important. I want to be able to pass those books down to my kids so I can be sure they have access to certain fields of knowledge. I want to go back to collecting DVDs & VCR tapes because I don't think being dependant on streaming services is a good idea (they like to remove shows from one service just to add it to a different service so you have to buy it again). In conclusion, I'm only interested in being a housewife. Unfortunately, I really DONT have other solid goals except learning more homemaking skills. I think housewives are a really important factor in curbing the reach of capitalism. Sorry to dissapoint everyone that think feminism means no one should aspire to be a housewife...

This is such a bizarre turn of the century issue... it's most likely that dual income households are here to stay. In a way, you'd be making more money doing someone else's homemaker work as a job, or even teaching people how, rather than doing it for an average husband, but that also sounds extremely redundant because it's almost the same thing but with extra steps, and your own housekeeping business. And then you'd have no time to do it yourself. Or would you? In any case, simple is nice. If simple is what you're into, more power to you.
