I’ve been reading horror so far this year, but with book 6 & 7 getting announced I really wanted to revisit the Nightcourt and my book boyfriend Cassian 🤭 ❤️❤️

Anyone else doing a re-read?

So have been lost in a web novel  lately and kind of curious if anybody has read Shadow Slave?

Just start reading this book, and initial pages hooked me.
Very nicely explaining all those scientific terms and knowledge

Book - Glucose revolution

I was kinda underwhelmed. There was an author's note, a translator's note, as well as an afterword detailing some of the themes the book was meant to explore. The explorations were pretty lukewarm.

The value that I can find in this book is that it felt a lil spiritual and ego-dissolution-ish, and perhaps realistic about how certain mundanities of life persist even in the face of societal injustice and esoteric revelations. I learned a bunch of cool vocab from the prose.

Nevertheless, the plot felt pretty nothingburger. The main character is a pretty morally grey person so there was actually a lot of room for some serious stuff to happen but all the events read like a fever dream. It was so vibesy and slippery that much of it slid off my brain. Shrugs.

Reading slump...

Picked this manga up from my apartments little free library and am finally starting it. I'm also reading the 6th Bridgerton book, When He Was Wicked.

A story that follows Rintaro Natsuki, a hikikomori high school boy who has just lost his grandfather, the owner of a beloved second-hand bookshop - Natsuki Books. Rintaro is ready to shut the shop, move in with his aunt in a distant city and disappear into his own loneliness until a talking ginger tabby cat named Tiger appears.

​Tiger doesn't want treats, he wants a hero. 
He enlists Rintaro to help him "liberate" books from people who are mistreating them.  (Interesting plot isn't it?) - A talking cat, introvert boy and save books! 💜✨ I have a good feeling about this one 😊.

A fantastic Good Omens fanfiction which happend to be one of the best examples of social commentary and art as rebellion I have ever come across. Painted in the Margins is full of references to feminist, queer and socialist authors, re-raphaelite painters and street art. 
Highly recommend.
