Well for me, Love is about a great many things but it boils dow to empathy, compassion, honesty, bravery, and patience. I have loved once and I thought I felt it back but I was wrong…love can be easily misconstrued for lust or companionship, but to love…and I mean truly love…it must be metaphysical…come deep from the heart and soul intertwined in a elegant dance of positive and compassionate emotions.. I knew I truly loved someone in my past because when I felt that love, I knew that if I died in that moment, my life would be fulfilled because I got to taste a moment of the immensely complexing experience of love. Love for me was making her happy, being there when she was sad, always putting her first before myself without a second thought, because it felt natural. Knowing no matter what feelings weighed me down, in the end I know I’d face them because of the strength love gave me… ..BUT, love is like a double edged sword, you can give and feel all the love you want for someone, but when they don’t love you back and you discover that moment after giving so much of your time and soul to that person, it can cut through you like no other pain..I know…because I’m still bandaged and healing from that immense wound 3 years later… The best advice I can give to someone about defining love….is..LOVE YOURSELF! Learn to love you the way you love others and only through that experience can you truly comprehend your meaning of LOVE!
