5She broke my heart but I knew deep down she is a good person And I was the bigger person to eventually get pass it. Wasn't easy but I knew her not being part of my life would of hurt even more. It's rare to find genuine good people these days. When you do you should fight to keep them in your life. We have now been friends for 10 years and our friendship is better then ever even though she's with someone. (edited)

3From my experience, there is a great deal of temptation because the heart will still beat for someone who the mind no longer fully trusts... I haven't been able to rebuild those types of bridges.

I had a boyfriend. Was the worst boyfriend ever. We broke up. We became best friends. He was one of the best friends I've ever had. Then he died in 2919. I miss him.

4Yes, I'm always open to friendships with people who are on a direction towards improving themselves, including with an ex who hurt and/or betrayed me. I want both of us to learn from what happened in the relationship so we can do better for future partners and not have to repeat mistakes from the past. This isn't for everyone, and it certainly isn't the easiest. But I firmly believe that we have a collective goal to grow, and if we can set aside our egos and pride for that, then great. I won't push friendship towards an ex who does not want it though, especially if they're stuck in a fear-based mindset. I just wish them well and continue on my own path.

For experience not really but in time maybe it can happen if it was not on bad terms I'd say it can but from bad terms yes best to just move on and leave them out of your life

How would you? I mean, if the person betrayed you in a romanic relationship, what makes you think they wouldn't betray you as a friend? The person already showed you their conduct and values, so you would be insanely gullible to do that. Just cross the person from your life and be friends with someone else.
