Tic Tac Toe

The sun rises again on a beautiful Sunday morn. The bags are packed, documents checked and our explorer takes final stock, ready for the long journey home. The beast will need to refuel in Santo Domingo before stretching it's wings across the ocean. Onto to the first beacon, the largest lighthouse in the world to guide our explorer safely home. Then across the Alps and a quick rest to stretch the legs before completing the final leg down to the heel. And so, as the sun sets over the ocean on yet another beautiful evening, our intrepid explorer let's out a big sigh, alone and silent as the night.... Not for breathing in musky air after a windy n' dusty day, nor for the tremendous hard work by the team of tigers conversion of one mission to another, or re-living the adventures of Indigo beach some few days passed... But for leaving behind a place of warm and friendly people, trying to make a life in such harsh extremes, while others prosper from the stench and corruption they create and thrust upon them. Life is more than just survival, living in poor conditions created by Man. Life here, is being able to keep your head above the filthy water, saying NO to more taxes that fill the purses of the hungry sharks below. A country that has, is, and forever will be raped of its history, beauty and integrity. Man blames Mother Nature, but she is not to blame. Her daily storms of fury are there only to wash the streets of the filth and decay. Soon it's time to pack the bags once again, for the adventures are not over. Three einged beasts await to take our explorer across the ocean, far, far away. Thundering high through the night sky only the satellites, the thousands of bright stars and the occasional meteors help navigate the winged beast across the ocean. All is calm aboard and our explorer settles in for a couple of hours of peaceful thoughts and dreams. The sun breaks over the horizon to the east and the beast slows her engines as she descends and bumps through the grey clouds towards her destination, our explorer recalls the same feeling on the roads some 24 hrs earlier. Twisting and turning through the layers, a glimmer of sunlight shines through a gap before disappearing again. Nothing yet on the cameras, as she tries to slow her speed, now down by half. Just over ten minutes to wheels down and ahead of schedule. The clouds break and behold, let there be light as the city of love awakes. The tail wind picks up and she’s speeding again, more twists and turns and she slows down quickly, luckily, there's no speed cameras as she descends through clouds circling the city below. Another layer of clouds as the rain streaks passed the wind. Behold, the lighthouse is now in sight and she now touches down softly, like teardrops hitting the pillow. It's a very cool winters morn south of the Parisian city. Next, our explorer makes the quick hop over the Alps for the third leg of the journey home. No room upfront for the cabin baggage, so to the captain's locker the carry-on goes. A smooth take off followed by another fairground landing as the thermals play havoc with the small airframe. The autopilot making the most of its finite adjustments before the pilot attempts an adventurous but successful one-wheeled landing. Perhaps the pilots are playing tic-tac-toe, or scoring their successes on the tarmac below. With over 2 hours before the next flight our tiring explorer finds shelter in the lounge for a well needed rest and hot beverage, before continuing the final leg of this very long adventure. It maybe mission complete, but it is not mission over. What's next in-store for our intrepid explorer, will wait and see. Our tiring explorer awakes to the sound of the engines throttling back, and the late runner drifts through the clouds on its route returning home. A pale red sky signifies it's time to slow down, for a well needed rest is all that's left on the menu today. Some thirty something hours have passed since the start of this epic journey and still 90 minutes to go. The final rollercoaster ride is over, it's wheels down and doors to manual.
