Eversion

Just finished reading Eversion by Alistair Reynolds. The story follows a doctor on an expedition with the crew of the Demeter in search of a mysterious artifact. When disaster strikes, the doctor wakes from his dream and finds himself in a new technological era, but the crew and the mission are all the same and only the doctor seems to realize that the situation is repeating itself. Each time the doctor wakes up in his cabin and the scenario starts to repeat, it’s exciting to read through what has changed and to find how far the crew will make it this time. Eventually, the top layer of reality is reached and the doctor can finally save the crew but it’s not quite what you would expect. I give it a thumbs up for sci-fi enjoyers.
