Adoption Successful!!

Well after one night the girls have settled in comfortably. I spent all night setting their own entire room to relax in while for the next day or two till they've acclimated to the new house. Meet Thomas! 😺

Thomas is a sweet cat who we found living in the bushes. I'm co-parenting him with his new foster family. He is a big boy, but so gentle! He was abandoned by his family and lived alone outside for 3 years. Thomas is FIV positive, so will have to be an indoor cat for the rest of his life. It hurts… read more

Miss Molly is my foster fail

My first cat hadn't long died, and I wasn't looking for another permanent cat - I wanted some time to grieve properly and have the freedom of just fostering. Miss Molly had other ideas - my mum was staying for a short visit when Molly arrived, and she told me that Molly cried for me all day when I… read more

8 Stories of "Loss" I Learned from a Pair of Earphones 🎧☕

I found myself sitting quietly earlier, looking at some old earphones and headsets still kept in my room. At first, it seemed trivial—just small objects, some missing one side, others having lost their ear pads, or even gone missing along with their charging cases. But upon deeper reflection, these… read more

Cozy

Just a foster dog enjoying his new freedom to get up and down off the big bed on his own. Finding him snuggled into the blankets is an absolute joy. At first, I was worried the dog stairs I had for my last pup wouldn't work for him, but he has taken to them with ease.

Will this app be any different from others?

I’ve noticed a pattern where spaces that are more conducive to people communicating and meeting are more successful in creating connections and bringing people out of their bubbles. Think: hostels. You are literally incentivised to put down the phone and your general reservations and talk to other… read more

The world is vast and it should be

Immigrants have made me who I am. Growing up in foster care my foster mom was Portuguese and because of her efforts we were pulled away from another jehovahs witness family that wanted us. Different Direction.

I realized that people's ambitions are greater than their worth. Everyone is looking for the so called perfect person and what people don't understand is those people are made through connections already made. No one can pass the onset. So I decided to do what I wished to share with a special… (edited) read more

Nights

Night time makes me feel super lonely. I imagine it’s not uncommon, but it does affect how I connect with people. During the day I’m busy or distracted, I’m often not thinking much of anything that isn’t routine. Night though, with fewer distractions, I’m more prone to thinking about all the things… (edited) read more

The Screaming Butterfly: A Life Unmasked

The butterfly, a symbol of transformation, once felt like a silent scream—not quiet beauty. Outwardly composed, I wore a mask to navigate chaos, hiding sensory overload, social anxiety, and persistent dread. My silent plea for understanding was muffled by years of restraint. At 52, a diagnosis of… read more

Acts of service is stupid

That whole love language is bullsh*t. Anyone who claims acts of service is their love language literally just wants a butler and a slave. David Foster Wallace Quote

If you worship money and things, if they are where you tap real meaning in life, then you will never have enough, never feel you have enough. It's the truth. Worship your body and beauty and sexual allure and you will always feel ugly. And when time and age start showing, you will die a million… read more

Is direct message considered spam on the 'Boo' app?

If I send you a message, please don't consider it 'spam.' There is a solid reason for this: this app is designed to foster mutual understanding and connection. You may well ask: “Why direct action? Why sit ins, marches and so forth? Isn’t negotiation a better path?” You are quite right in calling for negotiation. This whole debacle about calling religious places for a baby formula has gone out of control.

I saw people saying to those who defend churches for denying help are downright insulting single mother as a whole. And it is somewhat sickening. The single mothers aren't mostly being single by choice. They choose to nurture and care for the child because of many reasons: 1. Husband left… (edited) read more
