It seems like many people are just escaping their own void by attaching themselves to others for material gains or emotional validation. I know humans are complex, but why does love and commitment have to be this difficult and draining?

Please stop highlighting traits that you struggle with yourself in order to psychologically ascribe them to someone else and distance yourself from your own insecurities then we all might get somewhere.
