So, I was talking to  guy from a dating app. Sometimes, chatting with him made me cringe—he’d reply with these super long messages that felt like they were written by AI or something. He constantly bragged about his expensive jewelry and how much money he makes, instead of just having a normal conversation and getting to know each other. And the final straw? He kept saying the word “goida” all the time (don’t even ask).

He lived in another city, about two hours away, and said he’d be in the city center for two days during the week and that we could meet up. I agreed. On the first day, he said he “forgot to text me about when we’d meet”, so he suggested the next day. I agreed again and made sure to message him more often so he wouldn’t “forget” again.

In the end, he didn’t even read my messages, and the meetup never happened.

So I matched with a Turkish girl on Hinge and we've already been on a date but lately she's been breadcrumbing me about meeting again. Texts are drier than the Sahara dessert and only texts once in like 4-5 hrs. While I am attracted to her, this behavior of her's is pissing me off. How do I deal with this?

In today’s world, relationships seem to have lost the depth and sincerity they once held. Many people jump from one person to another, “ghost” without explanation, or play mind games instead of being honest about their feelings. Why is that?

I went to a club with my girl-friends and met a guy. We talked and laughed a lot, and he bought me two mojitos. Before I left with my friends, we exchanged numbers.

The next day, he asked me to come over to his place. I told him I don’t go to strangers’ houses, and he replied with, “I bought two mojitos for a stranger yesterday.”

So I sent him money for those two mojitos, thinking he might feel a bit embarrassed or awkward—but nope, he accepted the money and then blocked me.

Am I wrong?

I don’t know what to say, but I can’t keep pretending like I’m okay anymore.

For a long time now, I’ve been carrying around this aching need for connection, for someone to see me. To know I exist, to matter, even if just for a little while. And if I’m being real, the weight of that loneliness feels like it’s breaking me more and more each day.

I’ve tried everything—putting myself out there, being honest, trying to be real, but the silence that follows is louder than anything. The feeling that no one’s ever coming for you. It’s like… what’s the point?

At this point, I’m not even asking for love. Just a connection. It doesn’t even have to be perfect. A month of being seen, heard, and not invisible—would that be too much to ask? I just want someone, anyone, to show up. And it kills me because I know I would stay, even if it wasn’t great, because anything is better than the silence. Better than being alone.

It’s not about finding the perfect person, or some dream relationship. It’s just about not disappearing into nothing. But maybe that’s what I’m supposed to do—pretend to be someone else, wear the mask, and fake it until someone finally sees me.

I don’t have the answers. I don’t even know what I’m looking for here. Maybe I’m just trying to scream out into the void and hope that someone, anyone, hears me. Maybe this post is a way to stop the silence for just a moment.

Maybe I am alone on this. If I am then silence doesn't matter because that's what I've grown to accept now. Being invisible in dating is just how it is. I don't know why people in my life think it would be easy. I'm a guy. No amount of looks, emotional intelligence, boundaries or self awareness can help that. I've just had enough. Be as mean and hateful as you wish. I've likely said worse things to myself than anyone can imagine.

I had a random thought from reading a few comments online and watching some clips about women (most of whom were mature in age) talking about, in MOST relationships, [not all] there really isn't a such thing as "love" per se, but rather it's more convenience. Back in the day, one way to get out of being drafted to wars apparently was to get married or to get raises and promotions in white collar jobs was to apparently have a wife and family (white picket fence "trad dream"). For women, of course, back in the day was for financial stability and safe places to live (i.e., their home life was not exactly safe) Also, women have a clock that men don't. (Biologically speaking men can have kids until the end of their lives vs women have until about perrimenopause (to my understanding) 
All of these perspectives from various ppl in diffrent places in life had me thinking.
Given this crazy world that we live in, if that is somehow true and if that's how alot of couples (especially today) see these circumstances.
I.e., women feel their clock is ticking so they, not necessarily settle, but look for the next best option instead of say "love" first.
And for men, maybe they feel the same or diffrent reasons.
Idk, it had me thinking. 🤔

Dating feels weird when..

So, I once went on a date with a guy. We had talked on the phone before, and he promised to bring me flowers—but he showed up without them, saying, "I didn’t have enough money for flowers." I didn’t really care because I wasn’t going on the date for the flowers anyway.

We were walking around the park, and I suggested we go to a café. He said he didn’t bring any money at all. I was hungry, so I stopped by a shop and bought some cookies—which he ended up eating himself.

During the date, he told me he doesn’t work because he finds it boring, and the only reason he goes on dates is because his friends are busy working and can’t hang out.

The whole time, he kept trying to kiss me, and I kept turning him down.

After the date, I blocked him and told him we’re not a good match.

Am I asking too much?

Too old to be playing these games.
