Male Interest Turned into Male Friend
I met up with this guy and I lost interest in him immediately because I noticed he's a very stingy man. Like he is not the type to provide or take care of a girl. Ngl. That's my love language so automatically it was hard to be interested in him. At first I gave him a chance and thought maybe he just wants to meet me first so i showed my initial interest in him at first but no... he's just not the giving type. So now I lost feelings immediately for this guy but I do love him as a friend tho... He's cool. Very encouraging. Wants to improve and is a good workout buddy. I just want no romantic or sexual interaction with him at all. Do you think I should be honest with him about this? Or just sort of express that I just want to be friends? (edited)

First are you getting into a relationship for him to take care of your needs if so it means you're not ready to be in any relationship. Men will take advantage of you and use you. You lost interest in him because you think he does not give you money. You have to know yourself before you think of getting into anything called relationship.

I think being honest is a Good idea, open communication of what your love language(s) are, helps people understand what you need to feel loved. While it may not come naturally to him, it's not bad to try to make an effort to give the one you care about what they need. Or he can understand that there's just no compatibility romantically but platonically there is. And then he can decide if he wants to stay in a friendship or move on. Good luck to you!

Regardless of how some might try to tell you what you should feel, that isn't important and you should follow your gut. If you know what you want then don't settle for someone who doesn't meet your personal expectations. From what I've read I don't think it is unrealistic to want something like this. That being said it is always better to be honest and straightforward to save both of you any grief.

Being honest about how you feel will always be the right answer. Doesn’t matter the type of guy this person is. The conflict that you’re feeling right now stems from wanting to avoid an uncomfortable situation. That speaks more about you than it does him. You’ll feel a lot better when you do and if he is a good person he would understand. (edited)
