Currently on a rewatch of Star Trek Discovery Season 2 and whilst Discovery is not favourite (my favourite being DS9) I’m always curious what’s everyone’s favourite series is, so what’s everyone’s favourite series?

How do we feel about the new Star Trek: Starfleet Academy series?

Wondering what people though about the most recent episode of strange new worlds, what is starfleet.
The story was ok enough for me but the whole blaire witch project style of shooting just gave me Stargate universe vibes. Was not the best episode I my opinion but would like to know what you all think?

Finished "Star Trek: Avenger" and the first third of the Shatnerverse has been completed.

Much like it's predecessors, this book exists for mostly two reasons:
1. Reunite Kirk with his Klingon-Romulan hybrid girlfriend he obtained in Ashes of Eden. Though she barely features in this book because she was recovering from a virus, so you can see how important she is to the story.
2. Despite his disdain for anything that isn't the Original Series, Shatner learnt of the relationship and bond between Sarek (Spock's father) and Jean-Luc Picard. So Kirk must have a more special relationship/connection and bond with his best friend's father. 

Highlights include:
Picard having to spend multiple chapters in isolation from being exposed to McGuffin virus. He is joined by Beverly, almost kisses her but gets interrupted by Riker coming over a com link
Kirk relaying how he escaped from certain death after the end of the return while he and Spock are in Vulcan prison (which consists of putting you into a holodeck so you can meditate on your wrongdoings), which basically boils down to "I was transported elsewhere to a planet of freed Borg. They removed my implants, and I eventually got a transport"
Christine McDonald (from best of both worlds) being in awe and worship of Kirk, and yes, kisses him during the climax of the story as if you had to ask.
After defeating the bad guys, they have to try and make the virus. It's taking too long, so they employ the use of the EMH to expedite the process. Kirk asks more questions about it, having encountered an EMH earlier in the story, and learns that part of its personality and knowledge comes from Bones. So through some button pushing they turn the EMH into Bones for a couple of paragraphs. The real McCoy comes in towards the end of the chapter (and yes, they do that joke) so he can take the work done so far and solve the problem after another two hours work. 

Final verdict on the Shatnerverse so far:
If you were to ask me if these books are good, I would say it doesn't really matter. For the most part, they are serviceably written. Are they enjoyable? Yes. Will I be getting the other books? Eh. Probably.
