what does it take to be good at controlling your feelings? to be a master of accepting things as it is, no matter how painful? to be so good at being broken? several failed relationships? numerous betrayals and lies? countless rejections? innumerable portrayal of false hopes?

by now you might have settled with saying, “i’ve seen this before. i’ve felt this kind of pain before. you can’t hurt me, now—i’ve gotten so used to being broken.” but darling, no. instead, i should commend you for being so strong not only because you can withstand these turmoils but rather, for being still so kind, despite people’s atrocity, for filling your mind with optimism—knowing when to walk away and setting boundaries when you need to, and most of all, for still believing in love, in hoping, and in living your life with pure heart and intentions. it is never your fault if some people never see your light—never force them to, because the right people will never make you waver in love, never make you doubt yourself, and never make you question your worth. don’t get used to being broken—rise; and leave those who try to leave you disheartened.
