There's a theory, that red lipstick is a subconscious signal "I'm ready to mate". I don't know, if that's true.. It surely gets attention for a fraction of a second, because most dangerous things are red. Not everyone likes it, though. I like no makeup or a very subtle one. People are beautiful, as they are.

Red (and pink) lipstick subconsciously makes a woman’s mouth look more like another part of her that is very attractive to men. It’s the same reason fuller lips, a good bust to hip to waist ratio, etc. are more attractive to men. Every physical thing a woman does to herself to make her look more attractive comes down to mating desires of men (because biologically that’s what men are seeking)… except fetishes. Like my fetish with women in glasses has nothing to do with classic mating / childbearing, and it’s not something most men are going to find attractive.
