I struggled in a similar way for a while, where all I wanted was a partner and felt incredibly lonely. But then I realized that romance is only a fertilizer to life, it's not life itself. I found partners by working on myself, by indulging in hobbies and finding others who share those hobbies. He can learn how to feel completely by himself, with family and friends, then connect with them, then he'll come across a girl who will love him for who he is. As a 20-something woman, I pass on guys who talk more about how much they want a girlfriend, than about themselves as a person. To me it screams insecurity that they're desperate for romantic connection and puts the title as a higher priority than the aspects about himself that makes him interesting. "I liked him because we share the same hobbies and he's a good communicator" sounds a lot better than "I liked him because he wanted a girlfriend", doesn't it?
