Good afternoon, from Pennsylvania. Let me start this by saying that I am not religious at all, this post will explain why, but I do appreciate when people tell me they are/have/will pray for me. I live in the USA, where Christianity was showed to me when I was younger. I had no issues with it, although I also didn't pay much attention to it. I used to pray when I had difficult times. It always felt more like someone to talk to without worry of consequences of the telling or the details told than anything else. I have never gotten into any other religion at all, just wasn't curious enough. For Christianity, once I began to understand that bible(S) were written by humans, I immediately lost interest in it and stopped praying all together. After giving up on prayer, I noticed that nothing was more/less difficult than it was when I was praying. No results came quicker/more apparent with either, it was literally life and life, one in the same. I now understand that some people choose to believe in God after dealing with some sort of trauma (being shot, losing parents, losing a pet) and it feels to me like it's a desperation move at that point, it's not a raw desire and that takes me back to the writing of the bible(S). I'll leave with a question for anyone who wants to give their opinion. No hate, even dislike, included in my post but I'm honestly curious how others feel about religion. What is your reason for believing in religion, no matter which you chose?
