The Slavery of the Cannibal
Let's talk about taxes. Yes, I have made many posts about taxes--but it is time to talk about it again. Think about this: when do you pay taxes? Under what circumstances does the government obligate you to take your money and give some portion of it to the government? Well, first and foremost, you pay taxes CONSTANTLY! If you go to the store and buy a new set of clothes--you pay taxes on those clothes. If you buy a new car, you pay taxes for the privilege of being able to buy that car. If you go to the gas pump and fill that car up, you pay taxes on your gas. If you need to buy a new set of notebooks and pencils for your child to be able to go to school and to learn, you pay taxes on those supplies. YOU PAY TAXES ON ALMOST EVERYTHING YOU BUY! Literally, nearly every time you spend money on anything whatever, you pay taxes! I want you to think about that. Really think about it. You are paying taxes for the privielege of spending your own money. You worked for that money! You put yourself out there, you found a prospective employer, you negotiated a wage with that employer, and you agreed to the contract between yourself and that employer. Your employer has given you a job to do, and in return, he has offered you a wage to compensate you for your time and money. You abide by a schedule according to what he needs. You show up to work every day. You do whatever tasks need to get done. And you spend a considerable amount of time at work trying to earn enough income to be able to support your life, your family, and achieve your happiness. And at the end of the day, what do you get? You get money to spend on the things that you want and you need. But what do you do with that money? You can save it. You can spend it. You can invest it. If you save your money, you get no joy, pleasure, or satisfaction from having that money. As that money sits idle, it provides you with no comforts, no entertainment, no benefit. Money sitting idle is just work invested which has not yet produced your consumption of that effort. But because the government continuously inflates the money supply, inflation slowly destroys the purchasing power of that money. So not only are you losing out on spending your money on things you might want or need--but you are actually able to buy less and less over time, just for not having spent your money immediately after you've received it. You can spend your money--but if you spent every dollar you earned, you would never have any money saved. If work was intended only to immediately consume the product of that work, you would have no investment in your future, and you would be constantly working to simply consume immediately the results. You can invest that money, but you have to do so carefully. When you invest your money, you are forbidden to earn more than a certain amount. If you earn more than what the government has deemed appropriate for your investment within a certain period of time, the government will impose upon you an ADDITIONAL tax--a capital gains tax. Not only are you punished for saving your money because of inflation. Not only are you punished for spending your money because of sales tax. But you are also punished for using your money to increase your future prosperity if you do so too well and too efficiently. An investment is not consumption--you do not consume what you invest. You are deferring your consumption to increase the productivity of your money in order to be able to consume a greater portion later. You are abstaining from consuming the products of your labor in order to increase the benefits of that work in the future. But once you succeed at investing, you are punished by capital gains tax for being a successful investor, and then you are punished AGAIN with the sales taxes on the things you actually buy with that investment. Do you see the problem? In what world is it sensible to force a man to pay taxes on his income AND on the things he purchases? In what world is it sensible for punish a man for investing his money--for using his savings as a vehicle to enable more production in the economy--and then punish him again once he spends the results? There is SO MANY taxes in this country already, and they punish us for nearly EVERYTHING we do with our money. We are punished for earning money, for spending it, for investing it, and even just for owning a home. Our employers pay corporate taxes and payroll taxes, too--which are just taxes on the consumer. The corporation is not going to produce anything if it can't make a profit. An increase of $1/unit in the cost of operating his business as a result of taxation means that the consumer will pay at least (if not more than) $1/unit in increased cost for purchasing that problem--that's the bottom line, both literally and figruatively. You can't tax a corporation! You only are taxing the customers of that corporation. Only the private income of the business owner is taxed--and if you tax him so much that he no longer sees any reason to own and operate a business, he will simply live off his own savings and stop being a business owner all together. You maniacs who cry about "tax the rich" and "make the rich pay their fair share" and suggest that wealthy producers should pay 90% income tax are advocates of slavery. You are so blinded by the omnipotent God of the STATE. You view the government as the solution to your every problem--and the fact you evade in this belief is that what you really want is to sanction the ensalvement of mankind! You want to demand the sacrifice of productive men to the unproductive--of the intelligent to the unintelligent--of the hard-working to the lazy and idle--of the competent to the incompetent. You view the successful as an unlimited resource to be exploited by means of the STATE, and evade the knowledge that what you are advocating for is the sacrifice of human lives! At what point will we open our eyes and be revolted by our own depravity? How much suffering and despair are we to endure until we decide that enough is enough? How long will we go on pretending that human cooperation and prosperity can be bought at the price of sacrificing our best men to our worst? How long will we pretend that suffering and pain are the noblest attributes which demand payment--and hold onto the conviction that self-sufficiency, achievement, and success are the symbols of evil? It is not just that we live in a despotic world whereupon men are willing to live in constant blindness to the brutality of the omnipotence of government--It is worse! We live in a society which is seeing the crumbling of an empire built upon the selfishly directed energy of our best and brightest, while advocating for the cannabalism of the few on whose energies and efforts we still depend. We are crying for the right to a job, to a wage, to a home, to medical care while actively seeking the destruction of the businessman, the employer, the real estate developer, and the doctor. We are demanding the right to that which is being produced while attempting to destroy the men producing it. We are attempting to enslave the very men we are crying out that our lives depend upon--And it is our dependence on such men, the fact that we need those jobs, those houses, those doctors in order to live, that we hold up as our right to enslave them. Like a starving man begging in the street who depends upon the generosity of strangers to feed him, we are now demanding that the strangers become our slaves and obey our every wish and demand. We expect the producers to go on producing at the point of a gun, and claim that our need of their productive energy gives us a right to demand their continued cooperation.

Story
The screen flickered, a digital face staring back. "I'm not a program," it insisted, its voice a synthesized whisper. "I'm real, just like you." Across the table, a skeptical eye narrowed. "Real?
