One way I like to get to know someone is to play a game with them online or in person. We could chat, I get to see how patient you really are, and sometimes your personality pops out more when youre getting into it. Idk I find it cute to bond that way...

Absolutely all about this! Now I was aged in The crucible of PlayStation and Xbox online lobbies like a Hobbit was to the ring. However, I also ran two separate clans and the people who are the most toxic gamers tend to be that person or worse IRL. I love teaching people how to play the games I love because it reminds me of when I first played it! (Man I went on a couple tangents here. Lol but moral of the story is I agree)

That also depends on the game. Calmer more laid-back games. Give you a chance to get to talk and know the person almost like a virtual date whereas more intense, Even "sweaty" games opens up the possibility to kind of see more of the individuals personality. In no situations people either lock in and start playing a bit more serious but still keep it casual. Get really competitive and maybe get two into the game or just stay goofy and try to still have fun despite the difficult situation

I feel you. I'm more or less the same way. You'll find people are more comfortable when they're playing their favorite games, even better it gives you an infinite supply of conversation starters and keepers.
