Algorithm and the Brain

I watched the Netflix documentary the Social Dilemma where I kinda took is as the problem being the algorithm. The algorithm is a program and operates as such. But it's evolution is almost taking a "living" role as the initial programs can adjust, autocorrect and better themselves without human intervention. But in the end the algorithm is not a living matter and therefore wouldn't have consciousness. It can't take ethical decisions such as distinguishing "bad' from "good". And the danger of it all are the humans using the algorithm do to the so called unethical and bad things according to human standards. Anyway the analogy that I wanted to make it's about our brains and how in a way they are like the algorithm. The brain is an amazing organ able to storage so much information and it keeps us alive by commanding our bodies. And the analogy is just that. The brain is "programmed" to ensure our survival. But like the algorithm, it isn't able to distinguish between "bad" and "good'. If anything it might have been able to distinguish "safe" from "dangerous". But nowadays something it's not accurate if you think about triggers or anxiety. Anyway that's all I wanted to say, couldn't sleep, thank you for reading my Ted talk.

I think the brain is hardware, the mind its software, and both were moulded by an algorithm called evolution, where natural selection is the loss function (edited)
