I understand everyone wants to put their best foot forward when dating - but have you considered just being your normal self - no makeup, no pretending to like things you did once or can barely stand, to spare yourself and everyone else the hassle of having to sift through the various facades to figure out who you are? It just seems like so much work to get past the interview-style nonsense to achieve an actual conversation, and the thought of the facade bothers me so much it makes me sometimes dread meeting new people. Am I making any sense or am I just being a cranky old man now?
