I don't understand it. If you are trying to find someone to be with... Actually write in your bio. Empty bio's tell others that you put no effort. Same goes for reading bio's. If you are interested in someone PLEASE read their bio. I personally hate when someone ask my interest or hobbies and I have all of it covered in my bio. Ask me something that is not there instead. It's a small thing but it can be so frustrating for multiple parties.

As a guy who still asks people about themselves even though it's mentioned in their bio I specifically ask because I'd like to hear it from them and get their personal response of what their interests are, plus it kind of takes the figuring things out about a person aspect away from things when you just jump right in like "so I know you like astrology, what do you like about it". I wonder, is that approach wrong? In my mind I saw it as portraying genuine interest in their perspective of what they like, but now I'm starting to think it may be perceived as annoying and like I did not read their bio (I do mention that I read their bio but would like to hear it from them personally what they like and what about it).

But it's like. Super hard to really like get the the inherent concrete foundation of who an individual is. The problem I always run into is that most people don't read your bios and when they decide to it usually leads to you getting ghosted. It's really a waste of time to put alot of effort into your bios because most ain't gonna either read it or care enough about what you're here for

Yesss!!! When they ask me what I like to do for fun it's a dead giveaway that they didn't bother reading my bio. If someone can't even put forth the effortto read my bio, they aren't interested in me as a person. And yes, nothing written in a bio is a red flag to me. They're either not over their ex, or just looking for hookups. Same goes for guys who don't pay for the apps...they couldn't be very interested in finding the right relationship or they're cheap or too broke to date.
