3yPersonal Development
Today I am here to tell you a story about my own personal development and why it's so important to me. As an individual I am very keen on always improving, you see we are never done. Never finished and never perfect. People who believe perfect actually exists in this universe are delusional, because the concept of something unable to improve is insane. Many people that I have met throughout my journey so far have been very self-aware and keen on personal development, it's so great to meet those people. But I know more people who are quite the opposite. My own personal development started when I was a kid. I had just started school and I had my brother and my mother, my dad was out of the picture. I don't know if it was trauma or what caused it really but I had major anger management issues. I would get really upset and angry easily. I could pick up a bookshelf full of books and throw it across the room as a 6-7 year old when I was angry. Full on Hulk mode. So my school and my mom put me into Therapy for it. I can tell you that the Therapy and care that I got was horrible, it didn't help at all and they basically didn't do anything other than waste my youth. I also had other issues, like feeling estranged by my peers for being different, being told I am stupid by my teachers for being unintrested in their teachings. I wasn't even stupid, I was the opposite. I read Harry Potter when I was 5 and could read flawlessly in both Swedish and English by the age of 6. I wasn't stupid, I was bored. On top of that I have a mom that doesn't believe in mental illness and a diagnosis like ADHD. I didn't find out I had ADHD until I was 26 years old. But back to the personal development. As an outcast and the teachers least favourite pupil I one day thought to myself: "Why can't I just do like in the books? I could go from Frodo in the Shire to Frodo casting the ring into the fires of mount doom. I could become whoever I want." So I did. I battled my anger issues on my own, I fought my anxiety and shyness by looking myself in the mirror each day and smiling. I fought my inability to speak fluently by talking to myself with headphones on and pretending I was in a phone call. Finally in my later days I moved far away from my past and had a couple of years just to myself up in the north, where I finally felt like I was me. But it's not over by far, I have many things I wish to improve upon still. Never done. If you read all of this you're amazing, thank you for your patience. Please comment with your own stories about personal development.

3.3M SOULS
I relate to this so much, I didn't find out I had adhd till this year and I'm 25 now. Not to mention as a child I used to read all the time but would struggle in school just enough that my grades were passing. I was definitely not dumb but I wasn't pushing myself as hard as other teachers. Not to mention there's so many things I have a fantastic memory for then in school I'll have trouble putting it there or in the kitchen every now or then something gets left on or out.
I recently met someone who also has ADHD and he's actively seeking treatment now, so your story resonates with me in some ways. That said, congrats on improving yourself! Facing oneself is one of the hardest things to do. Hope you'll only get better and stronger on this self development journey :)
