7moShopping Never Changes
Hello, are you doing well? Did you have a good week? Do you want to hear about mine? No? Well I'm not stopping, but you can. On Saturday I didn't do much. I finally got round to putting up the framed posters and I was only half successful. I managed to get one on the wall with no issues, but when I pulled the protective film off the plastic screen it cracked. I admitted defeat and just took the poster out of the frame and cellotaped it to the wall. I'm happy with the results, even if I could have done better if I was more careful or patient. I also put some knock-off Lego flowers (Block Tech Blocks In Bloom) together, just the simple ones. I left the 134-piece roses to someone with more skill and time. The rest of Saturday I wasted by watching Scary Movie 1 to 3. What a result? I don't think so... Sunday I don't think was any better, just a trip to Aldi, but I think I left a pizza behind when I was packing my shopping, or I didn't actually take it out of the freezer when I spotted the one I wanted. I'm not entirely sure what I did. The rest of the day I watched The Happytime Murders, because I don't have the right subscriptions to watch Peacemaker season 2. Before the film even started I got 3 minutes of ads. Not sure what Amazon is playing at, but I am wondering how many more minutes they'll add before I succumb to paying to remove them — probably 10 minutes. I also discovered that thanks to my Amazon subscription I get to use Luna, so I can play Fallout: New Vegas, so that's what I'm going to do until I get bored. It only took 1 hour, so I decided to tackle one of the last Lego flowers and watch Exploding Kittens on Netflix. At some point I tried cleaning my leather chair, at least I think it's leather, but it didn't ever look any cleaner despite the wipes turning black every time I used them. After 15 minutes I stopped before I did any damage, but I am sure damage was done. I watched two more films before closing my eyes on Sunday: 22 Jump Street and The Town. Well it's Monday, a special Monday because it's my 40th birthday for the second time. I just want to say thank you for all the well wishes and the presents, especially the 4 Hot Wheels Colour Changers I got myself. I know they are more expensive than the usual ones I get, but that's the price I am willing to pay for the absolute certainty I don't currently have that model. I arrived at work and someone asked me if I was living the dream. I've heard that phrase so many times, but never really overthought it before — it's probably the two cans of iced coffee I had. Living the dream only if you mean I have no control over what's happening, I don't know what anything means and I wish I could wake up — then yes, I am indeed living the dream. At least there's some mercy in the fact I'm not living the nightmare... The shift wasn't too bad. I managed to cut my finger on the jig somehow, but it wasn't anything a plaster couldn't handle. After the overtime hour was done, I went home for birthday pizza (who needs cake?) and YouTube videos before heading to bed. Tuesday I woke up with mind fog and a sense something was missing that I knew a bowl of porridge alone wasn't going to solve. I knew I would have to make a detour to Heron's for retail therapy if I was going to survive the day. So after breakfast and throwing on my uniform, that's what I did. I picked up two cans of Jimmy's Iced Coffee Original (it's not product placement if you consume it) and Maynard's Spooky Gums (I think they might be out of date, but there's a coffin and a gravestone on the packet). It's not a cure, but I think it might help a little. I'll admit I wasn't ready for what happened next. I thought it was odd that I didn't see my workmate before the start-of-shift brief, but I just assumed that his bus had broken down. My supervisor telling me he had quit caught me off guard. I had spoken to him at the end of yesterday's shift to show him the new Hot Wheels I had bought, and he didn't mention he wouldn't be coming back. Obviously I spent the whole first session questioning if I was the reason he left, but in the end, even if it was me, there's nothing I can do about it now anyway. At the end of the shift I checked my phone to see if my lift home had arrived; instead there were good reasons why he couldn't do it. I could have called a taxi, but I really don't like spending money, so I decided I'd rather wait an hour and see how far I could walk in the rain whilst listening to music before it made sense to wait at a bus stop. It was a pleasant experience overall. It's Wednesday now. I'm feeling a bit ill, a little sore and very tired. Sleep was an issue due to my feet and legs aching, but it's fine I guess — nothing positive vibes and off-the-shelf medication can't solve. It's the middle of the week, but I ain't Malcolming it. The shift was fine; it started later due to a meeting and the overtime was cancelled for reasons. Getting home after the shift ended was an issue due to the buses being delayed. In the end I phoned a friend, and after he let me know he was on his way I saw two buses fly by. Guess I should have waited another 10 minutes after already waiting for 30 minutes. It's ThursPay (see what I did there? I took Thursday and Payday, combined them, and I will never make that joke again). I am feeling much better and seeing much better too. It must be because of the bath I had, but it does mean that blinking is clearly not cleaning my eyes effectively. I arrived at work expecting to find out the overtime tonight had been cancelled — it was. What I didn't expect to find out was that tomorrow's shift was cancelled. I'm not sure what I'm going to do with my extended weekend yet; I still have to get through today's shift first. Well the shift dragged like it was a Friday, probably because I just wanted it over with, but it did give me time to plan tomorrow at least. I won't be doing anything spectacular. I'll be tidying my room, playing games (there's a few sticker rewards I can unlock on Meta Horizon), and I might fit in a trip to Aldi to finish the day. Some things might change depending on how I feel after I wake up, but shopping? Shopping never changes... No other thoughts this week. Come back next week when I might have something to say. For now you'll have to make do with what's below. I have my own rules, but these ones I saw on a sign outside a play area might be easier for everyone to follow — well, some of them at least...
