Encouragement to join the police UK. Hey everyone I'm currently trying to get a career in the police as I've always wanted to be in a role that helps and protects people. But I'm starting to feel discouraged. I tried one County and didn't pass the interview stage twice so have to wait About a year to reapply for them or move on somewhere else. Personally the feedback on the second interview was not very constructive and when I emailed for a second opinion, the feedback was totally different and advised different things, also soon after, they advertised they are not recruiting anymore, so I'm wondering if they just made excuses and hired someone else, if so why not just say there were others more promising. I could go into more detail if anyone is interested. So now I'm trying the btp. Which last Minute emailed me saying I also have to do a presentation within 10 minutes. One of the questions is what are they doing to improve confidence and trust with the public. Whilst researching this I've seen and heard many terrible stories about officers doing the wrong thing and not getting punished and very little details on how they are trying to improve. So I'm starting to feel like what is the point of joining a organisation that is being so strict and hard on me joining whilst they are in trouble themselves and aren't really improving. Often I feel being hypocritical (e.g. Often saying spelling and grammar is marked in tests/ interview when Often even their own website have errors) and overloading people with questions and tests and checks, as well as expecting you to be flexible and do more whilst giving you limited time but yet "can't go fully in detail for every question " (interviewers words) when asking for feedback or for them to elaborate on things, Often spending days/ weeks to reply out of the blue. I Don't know. all this is just making me feel down and questioning if it's worth it. Which is disappointing because I know once I get in (*if) it won't be all like this and I will enjoy the role and do what I've always wanted to do. I could just do with some motivation. What are your thoughts and advice?

The exact reason to not join right? Why would you want to it's not that policemen are treated that well. Chances are you can simply find something better paid with less risks and a better work environment. The fact that you shouldn't forget is. If they really needed people they would not keep a that high standard. My advice take is as a lesson as find something that values you more and has less risks for your own health.

I think it's very much off putting when someone text you and you take so long to respond (days) and when you do respond, there is no sense of text decency to apologize.
