Well this exact thing happened to me but only in the place of the girl there is my mom she passed away 2 years ago and I still feel the guilt of not treating her properly there is never a day goes by without me thinking about her and feeling the regret. I think it would be something similar to that same feeling when you lose your partner and you weren't able to give time to them. I will be honest with you, I have no idea who your referring to. If you mean a loved one sure, but I can’t imagine a stranger or a friend treating you this way. Now to how I would react.
