"What are you l👀king for?"
One of the most overused cheesiest icebreakers on any social networking / dating app is to ask someone "What are you looking for"? I bet many of you reading this blog have run that line at least once in a chat to someone you made a connection with on an app sometime in your digital life, and it's OK sometimes we run out of words or perhaps the person you sent it to did not have a detailed statement or filled out the "looking for" box on their profile to clearly put it out on main street if they are seeking something specific. How often do you use a job search or career networking website? If you find yourself on those apps for presenting yourself and networking more often than you do other socials and dating apps, what do you state you are "looking for" over there? Do you state that you are seeking a lifelong job where you can work until full retirement with 30+ years on the books? Do you state you just looking for something to tie you over until something better opens up? Do you openly tell the digital world that you are a "career gypsy" and that you might pick up and move on in any given moment? Do you list the reasons why you left your previous jobs and or that it was their fault as to why you quit or got fired? I doubt if you did either your prospects would pour into your lap. However, you may find a good match if you in a prospective employer are looking for that someone that's can come in and provide temporary/ short term labor, and if you quit after your first paycheck no one is the least concerned because they don't have that job filled in about a week or two soon as you walk out the door? Perhaps a company is in need of a person who's willing to live out of suitcase & hotels and do a bit of globetrotting it ain't mutually beneficial partnership? Perhaps you are better suited for a role where you can have a consistent routine and ritual until you're old and gray and that the employee who's been around for a century at the same place and they don't plan on going belly up or letting you go unless you can no longer do the work? If your eyes in attention span allowed you to get this far into this blog perhaps you wondering are we talking about jobs or relationships? 🤔 Yes, this is what it's about in a relationship too! The common denominator in both dating and jobs is how you prospect and present yourself to get the best opportunity and fit. (edited)

Am I the only one who hates meeting someone in a bar or inexpensive restaurant for a first meet?
I’ve noticed that one of the reasons I don’t end up going out on dates is because meeting someone for the first time is so nerve racking, and driving across town just to meet up for coffee or in a bar (when most rarely have anything I’d want to drink) and is so atypical of my normal behavior... read more

Would you date yourself?
What is it about yourself that you admire? Are you easy or hard to get along with? Do you tell corny jokes that only you think that are funny? Do you get up early to watch the sun rise? Maybe pack a few snacks and drive 100mi/160km just because? Are you mature of spirit, wise of mind yet... read more

your 20s should really be about developing hobbies. you have less back pain and the world is brighter. stop constantly chasing men or women. sorry but there's no return on investment for that
