If there is a clearly distinct difference between both individuals due to culture, then it’s seriously worth reconsidering. Same if you see they are beholden by their family who controls them under the pretext of culture. However, two unique individuals unrestrained can be from anywhere and it wouldn’t matter. (edited)

Different cultures can be a barrier, sure. But can't they also provide some intrigue? I wonder if somepeople when dating have an idea of who they want to find, maybe tend to filter out based on what they want. While others, who happen to be single and maybe weren't actively looking for a type of partner, might just be intrigued by a personality or even a circumstance. In the latter case, exploring a new culture could be exciting and maybe even intimate. They might not understand you in the way you expected, but I think there are enough similarities across cultures (activities, lifestyles, interests) that it could work. Maybe somewhat unconventional, but that can be good.

I prefer to marry someone from a different culture or a different mother tongue. Why do I think you can share more with time, yes, it will be difficult at first in the relationship, but both parties will make sacrifices and make an effort to learn each other's language. Love is not overcoming marital difficulties together, isnt it? sharing everything togerher with your partner. I believe that a relationship with someone from a foreign culture will add color to your life.and thank you katya for your making good topic.👍

Does not matter and shouldn't matter. What matters is if you like them and they like you them both parties should be willing to understand learn and participate in each other's culture. Within reason of course

I look for somebody who is comfortable with themselves and build memories with them. And if your values and interests overlap in such a way a relationship is possible and would add to our already happy life, then its a fit. Regardless of culture. But I must admit some cultural differences make it hard. But while making memories those aspects become self evident. No need to jump the gun so to say. (edited)

I wouldn't mind either way as long as the cultures are somewhat compatible. I wouldn't want to have to fit in to a certain culture to make it work. We would obviously need to have a language in common, which would probably be English 😅 But if she was from a country with another language, I'd put in the effort to try and learn that. The only exception would be Norwegian and Swedish as those are so close to Danish anyway 🤭

Only if both are curious to know about each other's culture and can communicate what they're feeling either without being understood and given the benefit of doubt. For eg I know that the culture that I'm brought up in...in mumbai lingo...I can very casual say don't bore me...without offending the person. But the same can be offending to an outsider... The tone as well. Lots of communication and curious learning ❤️

That's... tricky. I'm already a misfit myself so I think I just need another one of those to match
