Why are men expected to make the first move in 90% of the cases I've seen or heard about? It's the same in chat as it is in real life

No one likes making the first move tbh, plenty of reasons for it, but the responsibility falls on men because it's tradition, there are usually more men on dating sites than women so there's a lot of filtering women have to do, plus men are expected to be forward, strong, independent, etc. I'd say be the change you want to see but it's not really in your control so 🤷♂️
