Why do people read messages and just not reply? Especially when you’ve asked them a question, why is mutual curtesy and respect just got out the window? I know at times I can be a bit slow to reply as work gets busy etc and I just forget due to old age but I still reply! Is it just a ego boost or do people feel superior and in control if they don’t reply?

Some of it can be attributed to Time Zones maybe (big maybe), some is because the internet has taught a lot of people that they are no longer accountable for their actions, some will be due to busy lifestyle but I think it’ll be common place that they are stringing you along while they figure out if there is a better option. overall, I know if I’m not going to be able to be consistant then I will message and say, “I’m busy with xyz so I’ll be sliw at replying” to show basic respect for whoever I’m speaking with.

Maybe they forgot, maybe they saw it when busy, maybe they are only on the app once or twice a week. Maybe they are in the path of a hurricane, or war, or have to work long hours for a while in a place with no wifi. Maybe they got bored with talking to strangers (that happens to me a lot). How long can you go without a reply until you feel hurt? Though, no one owes anyone on here a reply.

From experience it feels personal but its a known statistic that on the whole 80% of women seek 20% of men and visa versa, too few give someone a chance. It's hard to get that someone's not that into you but like others have said if they can't see the awesome you are it's their loss, someone else will see it. Move on from those not as into you as you think you are into them.

Depends on how long they leave you on read imo. If I am busy with work and have a very stressful day I can see not replying for a day without bad intentions. If its longer, the conversation might have grown stale or boring , or the person are no longer attracted or are no longer looking for a relationship

"The grass is always greener on the other side" for some people. Lol, until it's not and they try to come back around. I do the same thing. I can't use my phone at work and I tend to forget stuff, sometimes while I'm doing it. I may log on, but forget why, so I log back off to go do something I do remember to do. Lol, nothing is medically wrong, like Sheldon, I got tested. It turns out I'm really smart, who knew, and my brain is going in 50 directions at once, caffeine is my nemesis. Like you said about yourself, I always respond. I don't ghost, it's disrespectful. I just cleared a giant list of being ghosted by people who were mad about getting ghosted, seriously. If you can't give respect, don't ask for it in turn. Respect and trust are earned. Give them if you want to receive them. Ghosting me, then coming back a month or two later trying to talk doesn't work for me. I started taking screen shots and putting them in a "Ghosted By" folder.🤷‍♂️😁 I like to move forward and stay positive. People will be people and, in today's society, I don't believe that a lot of people even understand what making a connection to begin the growth of a relationship even means. But, like common sense, those that do understand will have to deal with those that don't until that day that we find a connection in life that understands as we do.😁 Patience and perseverance...
