Don't think it's a guy/girl thing.. I've been asked "when can we talk on the phone" and I've preferred texting 👀

Why assume all guys like texting? I don't. I prefer talking on phone myself. But not right away. If I'm just getting to know someone then I'll text. But I'm not a huge fan of it overall. It's so easy to misinterpret things via text, not so easy through you're voice. That's where I stand.

I'm a girl but usually when I first get to know someone online I prefer to text at first, if further down the line they want to call at some point and I know them somewhat better that's fine but I guess my go to is texting for privacy reasons

Easier to think about responses, and respond in own time. You are an extrovert so you value the instant,direct communication. For someone like me, calls are hard and distracting, with both audio visual info to process, rather than just your thoughts.

Calling is fun and my ex got me more into it. Texting is nice too but I love hearing my persons voice 🥰

Personally if I'm going to communicating with my phone I'd rather over text. If we are going to talk per se I'd rather do that face to face. I don't mind talking on phone whilst I'm driving, hands free of course!

I'd like to call but, I think it's more of a generational preference not to. I've gotten used to texting, I suppose.

I say the same about women(some haha),so much easier to get things communicated over the phone!

I prefer calls coz that way you can tell the sincerity in the voice than you can in a message

For me I can take the time to make sure I phrase things correctly for 1) no confusion 2) make sure I can state what I want said.

I can't speak for everyone here, but I don't like talking or the sound of my voice.

Honestly I would love to know and get tips on getting your significant other to call 🤣. (Although, I prefer texting at times too). But once in a while ... Yes I would love if my boyfriend would call or video call >.> (Yes I sent this to him)

Voice notes

It guarantees I'll get to say what I want to say. I don't have to worry about getting cut off, talked over, misheard, ignored... all before I get the entire idea out. It ensures a more proper response to the intended subject. Instead of people who hijack conversations to be all about them

Getting out the full thought in lengthy texts can be the way to go at times. Speaking over calls has it's limitations but of course it's natural pros. Inflection & tone of voice can express a world more than words.
