Where do I start?
I usually keep this to myself but now I want to find somewhere to tell it and I guess it's here. I (23F) just recently quit my part time job bc it has been taking a toll on my mental health. And now with finally time to myself, I'm just bursting with motivation to start new things I planned to do but put off bc of work. But I'm also dreading if everything goes south (before they even start) and how I need to find income and plan how my future goes yada yada yada. My plan was to grow my affiliate account (to earn backup income), to start writing again (hobby), and a dozen more. After a few attempts of socmed content with no results, I am feeling the despair that maybe this is not the right choice. I think I just need someone to tell me that money is not an issue and to take my time. I'm technically still a student and I technically still have time to weigh my options but being the eldest and first to go to uni in my family, I just feel like I have a big responsibility. I have this need to be productive but I feel uneasy if I don't get results when I do, bc I feel like I wasted my time. I just have these thoughts running through my head and trying to make sense of it all. Is this too much info for a mere post? 😅

Hey. You remind me of a younger version of myself... So I'll take a swing at providing some insights. By the way, I apologize if I sound too direct. This is just how I am. 🙏 my directness comes from a place of care. Money DOES matter, don't let anyone tell you otherwise. I need a much longer explanation for that, but it boils down to economic stability, having a safety net, and attaining freedom and security. With that said, pursuing a passion without an income (because you can't earn from your passion yet, or there's no one covering your bills and expenses for you) is going to be a frustrating uphill battle. Secure a stable income, whether it's from a full-time or part-time job, and get used to your work until you can do it well enough that you can allocate energy to pursue your other hobbies, ventures, side hustles, etc. Be mindful of your time and focus. Having scattered focus (as in, you can't stick to one project meaningfully) and minimal time for these personal ventures will make you ineffective. If you have minimal time to spare, then sharpen your focus so 2 hrs of working on a personal project will actually lead to progress and not busywork. I'd probably end up going on and on, mainly because I've learned these lessons the hard way, through my own mistakes. But I never regretted trying, and you shouldn't either. The only failure is quitting, and not learning any lessons from the setbacks and stumbles.
