I think that I'm set up for failure. It's hard when you don't have a lot going for yourself, so you put all your poker chips on one thing hoping you'll win big. That's what I did with this app. Granted, I haven't had it for a long period of time... But to me, a relationship is my main goal. I don't have a whole lot of drive outside of this. These dating apps just seem to remind you of how lonely you are when you have nobody else in your life. Half the time you look at your profile and think it's stupid or cringy, and the other half of the time you're wondering why nobody matches with you. But to be completely honest, I was just fine before I started focusing on dating. There's so much pressure on relationships, that you truly forget what a gift it is to have solitude. CLEARLY, I'm just making excuses... I'd choose a relationship over loneliness any day of the week. I'd love someone to hold in my arms every day. But... Being single isn't as bad as it's made out to be; it only feels this bad when you're trying NOT to be single. So, should we just quit trying? Maybe if I focused on myself, life wouldn't seem so bad. 😊

I think that's a good idea,  yes leave the opening for a relationship,  but main focus should be on yourself,  i honestly think that's usually when a relationship might pop up rather than when it's a mission for a relationship.

Super relatable, right I imagine that's why most of us are here, loneliness, the want for a connection, but they seem few and far between in these virtual spaces, desperation has a nasty habit of tainting the things we want most, we want something natural to occur ideally but what's natural about scrolling from stranger to stranger, I say you have a good mentality and enough awareness to realize that much, Im taking some new risks with online dating but I imagine if something does happen it would be worth the endeavor regardless of the outcome, Im looking at this app as an investment into myself, and my happiness, a step forward that Im taking for myself, good or bad, I'll deal with it when it comes. Keep your head up man.
